More info will be posted when everything is printed and ready to face the world. Peace!

Finishing upPosted by: silencio in Painting and stuff, Streets and stuff, UncategorizedWhen I started to slow down the graffiti in the end of the 90’s and was looking for other ways of expressing myself in the streets, I stumbled upon this fella. Acamonchi from San Diego really opened my eyes to the possibilities in stickers, silkscreening and stencils. And ripping off several of his ideas and aesthetics, I started venturing in a new direction. I haven’t really heard or seen anything from him in years, but it looks like he’s still going strong, pushing shit out in the underground. Why he never got his rep on being part of building this “streetart” game, I don’t know, but he definitely was an inspiration for me years back. Though his style may seem a little faded now, compared to other “bigtimers”, it still has the raw energy that first attracted me. And he did some of the funniest and dopest stickers around, before anybody got game. Don’t know what happened to his old website, but peep this video and check his flickr with tons of photos here
Enjoy…
Just got this photo in the mail. It’s from a small posterproject I had rolling last year, and captured by a local photographer, CLSC, who’s taking loads and loads of photos of the scene here in Copenhagen. Didn’t really know about it until recently, but I recommend to go check his Flickr here and his backfiles here. Enjoy…
Yo, the good people at Artrebels are throwing the Trailerpark Festival once again here in Copenhagen. It’ll be two days of a massive lineup of great visual and music artists alike. I’ll be dropping some wallpainting there later today, along with a lot of other interesting projects (even though I didn’t make the flyer, haha). It’ll all go down in CPHskatepark this weekend. If you’re anywhere near, do come by! All proceeds go to their “Art to action - social innovation Ghana” project. Good stuff… See more here |
