This is a release that I’ve been looking forward to for some time now. This is the most comprehensive effort of telling the story on Copenhagen train writing to date and it looks like pure goodness is in the making. Packed with more than 75 interviews and over 600 photos on 264 pages, this might be the book release of the year for me. See a few previews right here and see all the stats on the site here or check the blog here. Good looking out!

Local pencilmaster and characterkiller, Jakob Tolstrup, is having a highly anticipated show opening this friday at MOHS exhibit. Besides having mad steez with the pencils as well as spraycans, Jakob is getting the twists and turns in and on danish culture, society and beyond. “Didn’t spend my time playing soccer” the show is called and is gonna be jampacked with new works, from this talented young artist. Congrats Jakob, I’m really looking forward to it. Swing by if any of you are in town. See more of his goodness right here. Hang loose…

If there’s one thing danes like, then it would be a good ol’ bikeride. And I can say with an open heart that I couldn’t live without getting around town, and beyond for that matter, on mine. My friend just passed me the info on Others newest project; a biketour from Lisbon through Europe ending in Copenhagen this summer. Along the way him and his partner in crime, Eric Burke, are gonna hit walls and have fun, I’d reckon. Sounds like a killer trip to me. To raise funds for the trip, he’s selling artwork on his Flickr and getting pledges on this site here. Go support independent artists (everywhere)!

I’ve been kind of sleeping on this one, but better late than never, right? If you’ve been to Copenhagen or around here, you’ve might stumbled upon a subculture magazine with the inviting, yet disturbing, name Bitchslap. It’s founded and made by two great kiwis, working under the monikers Dick and Nanny. Rooted in the streets of CPH (even though Nanny migrated to Barcelona), they report about all things good in the arts, sports, fashion department and beyond. After 10 issues, they’re still going strong (and it’s still for free!) and issue 11 is in the making. So go support and take a peep at their website where you can see most of the backissues online (they have a feature on yours truly in #4) and a lot of other good stuff. Among other things there’s a good interview with Thomas Campbell right here. And check all the rest right here.
Have a good one. SLNC

Well, long time no see, but here’s for the new year. It’s all about new beginnings around here, so this is just a goodbye to my old studio (pictured above). It was rad being able to work there, but unfortunately it couldn’t be a permanent thing, so now it’s on to another temporary solution. Finding steady, cheap and good spaces around here is difficult, to say the least, but let’s see what 2010 brings.
Some other goodness is in the works, but I’ll get back to that soon enough. All the best – SLNC

Okay, so this is where we’re at right now. I recently moved into a new studio and in the middle making a bunch of new work (more on that later). For now I just wanted show a few inspirational shots, nicked from the good ol’ web. This small selection is mainly focused on other artwork, from people like Orteiza, Sonne, Richter, Os Gemeos, Messenger and a few others. Enjoy!
