Sometimes shit drifts away, and eventhough you wanted to remember about it, it just fade into the background somehow. After discovering his art in a really good feature in ANP Quarterly a few years back, I kind of forgot a little about Christopher Wool. Now he’s out collaborating on a series of boards with Supreme (who would have known), and I checked his stuff out once again. He’s been rocking some pretty interesting stuff since the late 80’s. He has a pretty conceptual approach and alot of his work is really well thought out. With a nod to Cy Twombly, abstract expressionism and the aestetics of “the streets”, he’s been exploring silkscreening, photography, patterns and whatnot for over 20 years. Screenprinting paintsplashes!?! Well, why not! Here’s a few pics from his site, but do check more here
