When I started to slow down the graffiti in the end of the 90’s and was looking for other ways of expressing myself in the streets, I stumbled upon this fella. Acamonchi from San Diego really opened my eyes to the possibilities in stickers, silkscreening and stencils. And ripping off several of his ideas and aesthetics, I started venturing in a new direction. I haven’t really heard or seen anything from him in years, but it looks like he’s still going strong, pushing shit out in the underground. Why he never got his rep on being part of building this “streetart” game, I don’t know, but he definitely was an inspiration for me years back. Though his style may seem a little faded now, compared to other “bigtimers”, it still has the raw energy that first attracted me. And he did some of the funniest and dopest stickers around, before anybody got game. Don’t know what happened to his old website, but peep this video and check his flickr with tons of photos here
Enjoy…
